Intermountain railway company

K-Line used the excellent Intermountain Kits as the basis for their line of refrigerator cars. They had the kits built overseas and shipped back here as ready-to-run cars.

Intermountain still makes some great 2-rail wheelsets in O scale.

Well Once one sees the fragile detailed parts breaking off, one would easily tell. Since I have built many a Boxcar, Gondola and 2 bay hpper car, these kits when assembled are NOT condusive to transportation to a club or another house. I can't tell you how many grab rails, thin brake lines, railings, etc I have broen off. IF one gets brass details for replacement, then the overall price can exceede the price of the Atlas O car.

I have every road number of the Intermountain PFE reefers.

Thanks for all the info gentlemen.  I just watch for them at the few train shows we have in Florida.

Intermountain and Red Caboose both made highly detailed "O" scale kits. I built the Intermountain single door and double door boxcars,reefer cars, hopper cars and tank cars also the Red Caboose flatcars and tankcars. The Intermountain hopper car kits and Red Caboose tank car kits required the most time to built, put Weaver 3-Rail  trucks with brass journal boxes on all cars. Check e-bay for kits or general search on internet, I am guessing that both companies pulled out of the "O" scale market due to lack of sales because many people are not into kit building.
