I really wanted to do something different and lasting for my control panel schematic for my store layout.

Ironically my Mennonite friend Earnest Martin who owns a bicycle shop and had converted my recumbent bicycle to electric power had  on his counter some wooden objects that he had laser engraved for his side business.  I explained what I wanted to do for my model train layout control box and he said he could do it.  We created a foam mockup of the would be oak top panel and he drew it on his computer and etched the oak board my other buddy had planed down for me.  I then used toggle switches instead of the standard Zstuff switch controllers for my Ross switches for a more robust look and operation.  The guys at Zstuff were very helpful in letting me know how to make the substitution.

I am very happy with the permanent result that did not require painting or pinstripes that might wear off.  The burned in lines are easy to read and quite permanent.  The picture below should say it all.  Please contact me if you want more information on how to make this happen for your layout.

Hi Al,

I did indeed show some pictures of the GREAT Millhouse River Turntable in my introductory reply.

Thanks for the help in getting me going with it!  I plan to promote your turntables as well as my store on the Forum.  The table works and looks great and the MRC Power Controller you recommended works great.  I tested a different supply and it did not have the resolution.

Here are are some more pics.  I still have to finish the bridge and control house.

Thanks,

Mike
