Hello everyone, I recently pulled out my legacy C&O Berkshire and notice that it isn’t running quite right. It seems to jump in speed at the end of each rotation of the wheels. I know it isn’t a track/power issue since all my other engines run smoothly. I’ve attached a video that will give a better view of the issue. Maybe a bad motor? If anyone had some insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Just going on the video, and not actually being there, ....it looks like something mechanically binding as opposed to an electrical issue, ....check obvious stuff first, traction tire slipping off, rubbing a brake shoe, bent eccentric rod from being handled, and FOD ( foreign object damage) ......

I agree with Pat, it's every driver rev, that's unlikely to be an electrical issue. The flywheel has rotated many times by the time the drivers make one rev.
Look for mechanical binding.
Thanks for the input guys! I feel a little better now knowing it likely isn’t electrical. I’ll just have to find the source of the binding.
