can I hook up a 456-19 older coal ramp to an sc-1 or sc-2 for use with tmcc? Mine only has 3 electrical hookup connections. One is marked unload, release and uncouple. The newer 456R has 5 connectors. Any help would be appreciated. I don't have the original push button controller that came with it. If I can't use tmcc where can I find a controller button?

I know you can use a Lionel 6-14182 asc to do it, just hook the coal ramp up to 3 separate outputs and program it for momentary, run power thru the asc and common to the track on older units. If you google Lionel asc manual, and go to page 7  it shows how to hook up multiple motors or coils. I would assume what you have would work also as the asc is just a newer model, as long as it has momentary output it should work.

Yes, that should work but if you only have one SC-2, you would need to reprogram it to operate in the “all-accessories” mode because the standard configuration only has 2 momentary accessory terminals.  If you have more than one SC-2 then you’re OK without reprogramming.

You probably already realized you can’t use an SC-1 as the 3 functions on the coal ramp all operate thru the track ground.

you are correct. Now that I don't have to use the SC-1 and SC-2s for my DZ2500 switch motors, I can use all the terminals on the SCs for accessories. Originally Posted by WftTrains:
