my question. my tender has stoped chuffing and recorded sounds, looked for parts on the lionel site and is no longer offered. can it be fixed with none o.e.m. board? thanks Brad

Does this engine have a tether between the tender and engine? Sometimes those don't communicate well and that will cause this problem.
If it's a wireless tether, make sure the drawbar hasn't worked its way to facing a downward angle.
If it's a wired tether, make sure the plug is pushed in completely. You may need a tiny (like head of a toothpick sized) dab of super glue on the side of the plug to hold it in.
