For those of you awaiting this model (which currently has a shipping date of Sept.'12), it's interesting to note that Lionel has posted the owner's manual, dated 6/12, in their online catalog. See for example: http://www.lionel.com/Products...neID=&CatalogId=

I can't see any surprises in the text nor anything that looks a little problematic (famous last words). I guess the main novelty is in the sound system.

However, I have never known Lionel to post the manual for a Vision product this far in advance of it actually being released. (The original ship date was this month.)

Agreed....no surprises in the manual.  I am anxious to see these engines, especially if Lionel does release an N de M version.  I am curious as to how this set will meet the high feature standard set by other VL engines like the Challenger and the ATSF 3000.

From what I have read, the prototype had two 1500 hp engines.  I wonder if the Vision Diesel Sounds package dedicates a speaker to each engine.  It would have been fun if Lionel had incorporated the break down feature similar to that on their B units....one engine would audibly struggle then fail, smoke would pour out from under the hood, while the other engine still runs properly.

Time will tell, hopefully it will be a successful engine.
