I have my little people in hand, wondering what adhesives to use. I have seen:

A) Hot Glue - Can be removed without damaging cars. Longevity??

B) Super Glue type - Once their in their in. The cars will not look good if the figures come out.

C) Poster Putty - I've used this before to keep boxcar doors closed. Anyone used it for figures? No damage to the cars is nice as well.

Any other suggestion?? Thank You!

Elmer's Glue All, just a drop. Or any similar type glue, I think it's generically called PVA. Stuff dries clear and if you yank out the figures it's easy enough to peel out, lessening the chance of damaging paint.

I like hot glue, but you risk the chance of warping or deforming the seats if they are thin, plus sometimes you get those stringy threads.

I had 3 Williams cars to do. First I had to install seats, then the people. I cut strips of scrap plastic to the length of the cars. I marked off where the windows would be and used AC glue and fixer to install the seats. Then I sprayed the seats and tables. Once dried I again used Ac and fixer to install the people. When all was dry I tack glued the strips into the cars. IMG_9932

Great work! When did Williams offer New Hope & Ivyland passenger cars?

I bought the recent Lionel set and it is beautiful, but your Williams car looks more like the passenger trains I remember seeing at New Hope.

Thanks!

Stan

Stan,

They didn’t. I wanted NH&I passenger cars to go with the METCA/Lionel current offer of a NH&I steamer. I balked at the price of the Lionel cars and decided to make my own. I bought a D&RG Williams 3 car set and an additional obs. The baggage car was left out of my roster. I cut part of the window frames out of one obs to simulate an open air car. I sent the car bodies to Christine Brandon to paint and letter. In the. Meantime I took care of the people and painted the truck frames.
