So I had to get some "supplies" at Menards today and found that the train department was completely gone and they have installed the seasonal garden and pool area. Anyone else notice this? Did I miss a 90% off fire sale this week? I was going to check out what was left over. We had at least 50 of those Kubota tractor flat cars.

I had to do a "search and find", they were off the radar here, and upstairs, behind the "Patio" stuff... no log cars there ;-( or cork...
Trains are a seasonal item at Menard's stores.

yeah I guess they reach a point and ship it all back to Terre Haute or Wisconsin, my regional supply areas.
I got plenty of local stock while it was still available, just surprised to have it there one week, completely gone the next with no sale posted.
Others have said that they put any of their left over train items up in the second level space during the off season. However, I have never checked up there for them.

I may run back over there now and check the upstairs
Yes, they moved them all upstairs, what was left. (Manchester MO)
Trains are not shipped back to a distribution center; rather they are kept at the stores but placed in the out of season areas, generally upstairs. They are still available to buy at the store, and you might have to ask a hardware team member to assist if you cannot find them. You can check individual store inventories on Menards.com., as only the items that did not sell during the fall/winter display season will be in each store inventory. I believe Mark stated in another thread that stores would not get new shipments until next fall.

Certainly worth a try, especially if they are not too far away.
Thanks guys. I didn't know this. I went back to the store and found it with a little hunting. Not too hard to find. Bachmann sets were on sale everything else was full price. I bought the remaining Support our Troops Trailer flatcars.

yeah, I realize that but I don't always trust that number.

watcha want Miggy? we might be able to make that happen!
I have never seen any Menard's train stuff on sale beyond the recurring "11% off everything sale." This is regardless of what is left. I have seen sale prices on Bachman and Lionel sets, though. Right now the Lionel NYC RS3 set is on sale for 199.00, with 11% off, that's $177.00 for a Lionchief engine set. Not bad!
