I like the Clinchfield Coal Company Alco S-2 but will be surprised if they get enough orders to make it. That is one isolated little road name there.
Whats with the "stainless plated body finish" on the new streamlined passenger cars?
Is this something new ,or will these be the same as previous offerings? Anybody know?
Wrong pantographs on the Milwaukee Bipolar. They made scale pans on the other Milwaukee electrics, why the toy like ones now. No ice breakers either. Sad
Don
Definitely the Illinois Terminal SW9 and calf, and the Boston and Maine GP20. Maybe on the GB&W RS unit and that sweet Springfield Terminal 44-ton switcher.

Under the Railking E8 sets, they misspelled Capitol Limited. The lack of proofreading drives me bananas.
So far I like the Yellow bonnets and the Eco N&S SD60.

This was introduced a couple of years ago on the Amtrak Amfleet cars. It wasn't expected to look that good and it caught many people by surprise. I guess it's in demand so all stainless steel cars are getting the played treatment.
I liked the Bessemer and Lake Erie switcher.
My layout is already too full, which makes it easy to resist temptation. Now if MTH were to make a NYC-style boxcab electric that ran on O-54, I might look twice.
The catalog shows the old underframe and trucks on the Premier Corrugated Auto Carriers.

I'm glad others are finding items of interest, but this is the second MTH catalog in a row that I'm not ordering anything. Without some new models or updated tooling on older models, I can't justify it.
Now if they had cataloged a Conrail GP38-2, I'd have ordered two!

You do realize this these are only pictures used in a catalogue, not actually O Gauge releases tied to the order stock number. Be glad this hobby still puts out dream books for you to ponder.
I'm glad to see the MTH club offers one last tinplate traditions car when you join
GO MIKE & COMPANY. Supporting you since the beginning.
Jim, Do you have a catalogue number for the Bessemer Lake Erie switcher you mentioned?
website wont fully open catalogue. Is it down?
Guess I’ll continue to wait for the next run of the solid rocket booster set. That’s all I ask for. And some conrail geep units!
other than that I’ll probably get a conrail sd80mac and the Westinghouse caboose to go with all my Westinghouse transformer flat cars.
Well, a quick page through on the net, and the "no whining" rule applied. Maybe there is a car or two, l hope, when l get a hard copy, which l have expressed my hating to take when l'd rather they and competitor put the money in new prototypes. I guess there is an advertising tax write-off? A souvenir you could get in Sweden was a roll of toilet paper printed with Kronor (Swedish money), which were a political expression of what some Swedes thought of their then socializing government. And, of course, and l cringe when l think of the Christmas catalogues, but Sears and other catalogues were found in my relatives' farms' outhouses. I would love to see these catalogues as preservable as those Sears , etc., Christmas catalogues.
Perhaps the NYC Mohawk.
Pity the poor NY NH&H. An SW 9 and calf, the lone 2019 entry. It’s as though the Shore Line never existed. And “any new haven fans” is only 16 pages long.
Melgar, Briansilvermustang arise!

I'm gonna grab all 8 cars of these. I don't have any freight cars like this for my modern fleet. This will be awesome!

I'd like an IT switcher but I saw the price and cried a little.
I like the PRSL GP38's , Reading and Northern MP15, and I like a few of the R&N cars, I have to know more on the army items, the cannons look strange to me.
Taconite Hauler,
I believe it comes in two numbers.
20-21089-1 and 20-21090-1
You should probably get them both and run them back to back. That would look great.
Love the GB&W RS-11, but why no caboose? Even just a transfer caboose, Cmon!

I really do not know how they make decisions they do at MTH? You may wait 15 years for that matching caboose. I bought the auto-train auto racks in 2006 and never a passenger car has ever been made to accompany these. I have had to order custom painting to get the rest of this train made. There are freight cars that I know people want made that never come. Potash Corp salmon color hoppers is one that I am seeking.
Remember the first MTH ads with a guy looking at his watch next to the C&O streamlined steam loco? It says, "You have waited 48 years for this locomotive." The slap was at Lionels and others expense Well, I am not waiting another catalog and another 13 years for the reat of the autotrain. I am using MTHs very nice car carriers from 2006 and again this year. But the 10 passenger cars are by Lionel, Atlas, and are at the painters as we speak.
A few nice items like the PRR G5 and the RS11. Any chance that this release of the S2 has the correct 539T engine sounds?
What I am most impressed with is MTH's creativity to find unique products. If you look at the prices of the items it looks like a big effort to make them affordable. They are less money than the big L and also appear to be going after the Williams market niche only with far better features. There are some nice products in that 2019 catalog.

Hello Rick. The last couple runs of MTH Santa Fe passenger cars have been "stainless plated". It looks really nice as delivered. The first run sold out very quickly. I have a set from the second run on order to go with my new Legacy warbonnets. I believe they are due in November, so you might be able to check them out at your dealer before orders are due for this catalog. I'll bet you like them - again, they're nice.

See those all the time! Wished we could get some.

Excellent issue, every engine needs either passenger cars or a caboose!!
Quite a bit of Steel industry cars in the catalog. Lots of URR. Now if only the special run switcher would come in soon.
Why MTH and Big L issue orphan locos without a caboose or passenger cars where appropriate is beyond me. I have passed on a couple locos because of that reason.

IT's possible due to the high cost of the locomotives in question as well as the rest of the train. If Lionel placed the whole AFT set in one cat, how many people/dealers could afford it?
I see when you click on the Premier Military items like the Abrams tank it comes up with a price of 1.20 each and the cannons are 1.00 each. I will take a 100 each please. nice deal MTH. I do not recall the howitzers having a mussel on the end of the barrall maybe that is why they are only a buck each.

I'm in dire need of a Rutland Caboose for my mogul, I could use pre-WWII B&A, NYC, B&M as well. Don't understand myself why no one will produce these. Lionel/MTH is missing out big time.

In what Scheme? I'm Looking for a "Plane Jane" Conrail model- NO side conspicuity stripes just Conrail - as in the early to mid 1980's!
Oh yeah! I will also take an "Operation Lifesaver" model as well!
So far MTH has only made Two, The bicentennial scheme and the PS1 version in Conrail Quality.
I really like the Peabody/IPL coal hoppers and will be ordering a few of them.
My layout and all my train storage areas are completely full, no more room! However, as usual MTH seems to have my number and there are a few items of interest in the new catalog. The S.F. yellow bonnets, camelbacks, Kodak 44 tonner, and some nice rolling stock. And probably a few more items after further catalog study. Hmmm...maybe I better hide the cast iron skillet, solid maple rolling pin and prepare my helmet.
I agree with some of the others here that MTH has done a great job at trying to keep prices down. Although their prices have risen somewhat, they are not nearly as much as the others have gone up. And a 'Thank You' to Mike Wolf!
I’m thinking about getting the Thrall all door box cars , the Herzog hopper, and a center beam flat car or two. The Herzog hoppers would go well with my MOW train. I like the Rocky Mountain engines and passenger car but I can’t justify spending that much.
Larry
I will probably pick up some of the RF&P rolling stock, but no big items.
I had decided that if they offered the FT in the first Southern series, starting with #6100, I would buy it. They included a comment about that engine, but did not offer it.
I have the operations manual for that engine from my Grandfather. He gave it to me along with a story of the day he converted from steam to diesel. He was handed that manual to read 15 minutes before he made his first run with that engine. Training complete.
Do you mean the Potash Corp 3-bay covered hopper built by National Steel Car?
The National Steel Car covered hoppers do not exactly match any of the covered hoppers that MTH currently produces, but they are similar to the ACF Center Flow 3-bay covered hoppers.
