Hello everyone,

As seen on weekend photo fun I received my new Silk City Bridge from my club, the Nj-Hirailers. I put all my other work aside for today and was able to install the bridge and start creating my harbor scene, It was so enjoyable to get to do this today.

Tomorrow I'll work on building the harbor scene base, I'll post more photos at the end of the day tomorrow.

Bridge footprint  48 x 13 x 12

Thanks, Alex

BIG THANK YOU TO BEN AND JOHN S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks great Alex. I was at the club when John was working on it, but I didn't know it was for you. He does really nice work.

BTW, if any of you don't know it, SILK CITY BRIDGES makes and sells bridges. You can see a lot of them by going to our NJ HiRailers website. And if you contact Ben or myself, we can assist you in ordering a bridge from us. I'm sure Alex would help you too.

Hello everyone,

First i just wanted to thank all of you for the kind words and encouragement, It was a ton of fun to work on my own layout for once. But i also very much enjoy working on everyone else's projects. Today will be one more day on this bridge project, then it will be back to my regular work.

As mentioned above, John S  is a fantastic bridge builder and i couldn't be happier!!!!!!!! THANK YOU

Track spacing is 6 inches on center in the bridge area, that spacing does change around different parts of the layout. It's pretty much 5 inches around the rest of the layout.

 Thanks, Alex

That's also a great spot for a table top to floor waterfall scene with water cascading down from culverts to a power plant down below which needs coal traffic from the JADA RR. It would be spectacular!!!

Hi Don,  There's a plan in place for a scene like this. It will by in the future on the other side of the layout.

Thanks, Alex
