Just yesterday received a southern heritage sd70ace diesel that I ordered because it had the best diesel horn sound that I had heard. I ran half a lap around the layout and the beautiful sounds just disappeared! I am so disappointed! Anyone else run into this problem? If you listen real hard, you can faintly still hear the crew talk and horn but no engine sounds. I had a new icg gp-30 do the same thing, but engine reset got the sounds back on that engine.

Exercise the volume control on the engine itself.
Thank you Marty, but the engine volume control does not affect it. When I say you can still hear the horn and crew talk, I mean it is misleading in that it is hardly detectable almost ghostly like. I called lionel and they said something about reprogramming and then using aux 1, then 2. I don't know about this since I am at work...will try this later...but have doubts about this working. Have you heard about this step? Thanks!
Thank you Jim, I might look at that or just send back to lionel. Wish it was something that simple. I had problem with new legacy cab 2 in not being able to get it turned on or off with ctc button. I found out that mine works fine if you pull down on the switch rather than pressing directly down on it! It still cooks the batteries in recharge though! Oh well...still like the system!
