Ed and All,

It looks like I won't be able be at the show this York. And Jonathan just informed me that he can't come to York either, so we will not have a presence at the forum meeting.

The beauty of York is that the next show is just 6 months away. See you all in April.

I don't take my absence lightly. I haven't missed a york in 15 years. But I have to supervise the construction of the following projects:

GN08 Super Mikado - Inspection Finished arriving November 7th.

Santa Fe Super Chief 1951 - Dome Car Sample Below Finishing November 12th.

FP7 Diesel Project - Finishing November 12th.

Budd Train - "The Canadian"  Samples being reviewed Oct 18th. Schedule to be discussed.

Modernized HW Coaches - Sample Painting and Lettering. Schedule to be discussed.
N&W Mollies - Production Schedule Discussion. Should be done by March 2014.

PRR L-1: Production Inspection in late November. The first project from the Philippines. The factory is co-run by Boo Rim, famous for super highly detailed models.

Scott Mann - China

You will be missed, Scott, but it is more than a hop, skip, and jump from China to PA!

I won't be there either, thanks to, among other things, another kidney stone, but I do hope to see you and all the rest--manufacturers, dealers, magazine subscribers, and TCA members and friends--in April.

Safe travels to all, and have a great time at the world's greatest toy train meet!

Didn't we have a specific topic set up on the furum for York business?  What happened to that? Everyone used to make their arrangements to meet folks and see specific things, on that forum topic.

From what I've been seeing, it seems that interest in the York, Eastern Divisional meet is waning a bit.  Others see this too?  I mean, even Scott Mann is going to miss this one, and at least 1/2 of my buddies from around here in Cleveland are not going.

I had to miss the April meeting, the first one I've missed in about 20 years, but it seems that I'm hearing less anticipation, less planning, less excitement about this Fall's meet next week.

Am I wrong on this?

Mr Boyle,

Scott Mann will not be at York but I will be there representing Sunset Models and Golden Gate Depot as I have for many years now as an accomplice to Scott at his location in the Orange Hall and the Grandstand before that when Mort Mann was running Sunset Models/3rd Rail.

Generally, Scott answers questions regarding 3 rail electronics and glad hands with customers. My role is to answer train related questions such as sleeper configurations, passenger train consists, types of feedwater heaters, etc. I am a 2 rail modeler and have virtually no knowledge regarding 3 rail electronics.

I am prepared to answer questions regarding future projects (one of my primary functions with Scott is considering/recommending future projects) as well as currently announced project updates. While I am not nearly as personable as Scott, I will at least be there to represent Sunset/3rd Rail/GGD so we will have a presence at our normal location in the Orange Hall.

I did it last year, but I will not be able to video the Grandstand Meeting this time. The way my schedule blew up on me this week, I am going to be lucky to get to York in time for this!
