I managed to get a few more shots of the ex-PRR Panhandle bridge over the Ohio River between Weirton, WV and Steubenville, OH.  These shots were taken from gravel yard under the western end of the bridge and from the parking lot of the Garfield Elementary School in Steubenville.  These shots were made at 8:30 am and rather hurriedly as that neighborhood is particularly unsavory.

Bonus Round - a few of the historic Steubenville brownstone victorians in the vicinity of 4th Street.

This would be a terrific candidate for scratchbuilding!

What?

No way.  See the concrete rings in the pier?  Each is 3' high.  I counted 20 of them, so the pier is 60' high (from the water line).  The bridge deck is at least 6' higher.  Just eye-balling it, the distance from the peak of the superstructure to the bridge deck is visibly greater than the distance from the deck to the river.  That means we're talking about a jump of (conservatively) at least 120'.  You're telling me someone jumped off the top of this bridge into the river (and lived)?

No freaking way.  That jump would be suicide.
