I have the wheel molds to make the castings for the Lionel pre-war thin rim wheels as used on the Lionel 264 , 265, etc. The problem I have is getting the thin rims produced for a reasonable price. I had one individual ready to make, but he committed suicide about a year ago. I have since found the original mfg. . .who made them for Bowser Mfg. As of last week the quote was $1.89 a rim, ( 5,000 pcs. min. ) order, x 4, plus castings , wheel blackening, and nickel plating of the rims.
If you know of anybody w/ a small machine shop looking to make a "LITTLE" money on a smaller quantity, please send them my way. All of my parts are made in the U.S.A., I hope to keep it that way. Harry
