Here is another type to ponder. Made it from a real wireless LAN
antenna(AirLink) and an old frame from a Lionel oil well. The base and
top was cut from a piece of  "hardboard". The transmitter shack is
a LongBell "skid" shack from American Model Builders. Inside is a flasher
circuit that operates three red 12v lamps at the top of the support
structure. (Photo 19) The chain-link was made from dowel and window screen.
I got the idea from a tower I once saw in Phoenix AZ.

Nice looking tower. This post caused me to wonder how many put old TV aerials on their houses? In my old neighborhood in the '50's and '60's, each house had one strapped to the chimney or on a pole next to the house or in the yard on an old electric pole. Cable came much later.

 

Many of you do that to your houses, or remember seeing them on other layouts on here?
