restringing the lionel 165 crane

Assuming you have the original "Lionel Crane" boom: Thread string down thru hole in top of end of boom just before the boom's pully. String is held in hole by small knot in one end of string. From bottom of hole string is fed under the pully on the hook. Feed string under hook pully from the side of pully closest to the crane cab. String comes up from hook and over top of pully on end of boom. Then run the string under the boom back to the crane cab. Wind enough around capstan in cab to allow for hook travel. Thread end of string thru hole on capstan and secure with a knot. Trim excess string.
