Finally got around to videoing a trip around our layout.  Used Microsoft MovieMaker to edit video, add captions and titles, and surprisingly easy to use, at least for what I needed to accomplish (I usually swear AT , not by Microsoft products.)

If looks familiar, one scene appeared on run 286 page 18.  Interesting watching the video how all the scenery "warts" become evident closeup.  Oh well, this is not a public display but for fun layout.

Heres the link.

Not sure what happened to end jumbled closing credit, but reads:

FILMED ON A LAYOUT LOCATION
SOMEWHERE IN IOWA
BUT,
THE REAL IMOGENE TOWN, WHERE ABANDONED
N&W TRACKS ONCE ROLLED ACROSS HWY 184
AND OVER WALNUT CREEK, IS LOCATED IN FAR
SOUTHWEST IOWA

ENJOY!  Comments appreciated.

RRMan,

I thoroughly enjoyed your video.  What a great layout you have.  The sections are well defined and flow beautifully from one to the other.  There's diversity, too, without appearing compressed or that things were on top of each other.  I especially got a kick out of the names you gave the various sections.  Wish I had a chocolate mine near me.

You should be very proud of your work!  Great job on the layout and a great, well-lit video, too.

Very nice.  How did you make your stone retaining walls?

We used Scenic Express Cut Pennsy FlexWall interlocking Stone Block panels.  Pricey but we liked the finished look.  When you see the video where the train rounds by the power house, I used a heat gun to relax the foam panel  then GENTLY bent the panel around a curved surface, keeping it place until cooled and retained shape, then glued to elevated board edge.  Other retaining wall by signal are straight panels glued to board.  All panels then had an ink wash drizzled over then to weather and hide panel interlocking "finger" splice lines.  We used hydrocal to cover over panel end to appear mud and dirt have slid down over the years and encroaching on wall.

Hey RRMAN, your walking tour just confirms what your riding video showed: you have a very nice, full layout with a good route and excellent use of space.  There's lots going on and yet it doesn't feel cluttered or compressed or compromised in the least.  And, I like your choice of trains. The trolley park is a nice touch, too.

Thanks for taking the time to shoot and edit this for us, including highlighting your electrical work.
