running at Riverside i rarely get to see locomotives other than in basic black, so i enjoy traveling out to Maricopa to see some pretty diesel units run...

to not break the bank, you can get started on something smaller than an A-B-B-A hookup like this TrainWorks (i think) SW1500 though the slug is a nice touch doubling as an operator riding car.
