This has just come to my mind, since I am adding street lights on my layout. Why does Lionel have a blinking billboard, but no plain illuminated billboards? I would like to have more lit billboards on my layout, but I do not want them all flashing. Just one or two would be nice flashing, but if they are all flashing, people may thing that my wiring is about to catch fire! lol

I'm with you. In fact, I replaced the flashing bulb in mine when it burned out, with regular bulbs. 
That's always an option, but you would think Lionel would want to have both available, just to try to sell more.
I don't remember ever seeing a blinking one in "real life". Animated yes.
I don't mind some flashing lights and thought I would like the blinking billboard. After about a week I decided that it was too annoying and put in a non-blinking bulb.
