I wouldn’t care for the look of a painted sheet of plywood. I think what I need to to do my best to clean the track, pins, rollers and wheels.
@Pup posted:I use this so I don't have to rebuild every year. Next year I'm changing to Menards 031 036 & 042. I'll add some scenery and some signals to get the red and green lights flashing. Maybe a gateman.
Seriously, you could market that! Nicely designed!

You could always glue some white Styrofoam (available at Lowe's or Woodland Scenes) to your board then screw your track to that.
Try and make it easier on yourself by not having to take the track apart all the time. You can add scenic snow to your layout and have a nice wintery scene under your tree. Better then a white sheet anyway.
Worth considering. Thanks!
@NYC 428 posted:Well if your going to go that route then, I would suggest there pre formed curves. Gargraves flex track is nice, but you need to bend it to create curves which can be somewhat difficult if your new at it.
Also look into Ross trackage all there curves are pre formed, no bending needed.
GarGraves makes pre-formed curved tracks...with lots of choices regarding radius. I think the actual wood ties makes for a good look and is quieter as well...opinion.

I don't like 027 for around the tree on carpet, to low, I use 'O' it does sit a little higher. My 02.
My layout is on a sheet of plywood covered with a white bed sheet. Not on carpet.
I have not only my trains set up I also have a Plasticville village under the tree. This is as much as I can squeeze into the limited space I have
That multi tiered circle is amazing. Very impressive and creative thinking.
