Thanks for everyone for all of the information on the train shops around Scottdale PA. We ended up stopping at Bradys' Train Outlet in Greensburg, PA. I enjoyed the store and the guys very much, a nice fully stocked 3 rail train store. Only had enough time to make it to one train store this trip, looking forward to getting back that way to "find" the other shops mentioned. I was lucky to find and bring home a MTH Premier KCS SD-70 Proto 2 from a couple years back, had been looking for this loco for some time, a hard loco to find. Thanks again for all of the info!!

I wondered what he had running on the upper line in the back room.  he changes them all the time.  pretty cool.  glad you stopped there.  Originally Posted by jjames9641:

Hi Jim!  I haven't heard anything from you for that past couple years and sure miss driving out when visiting my Mom to doing business with you.  Several of my fellow San Diego 3-Railers and I miss seeing your name on our VISA bills!  Hope all's well,

Bob

Chris D, I did not notice what was running up there? There was so much inventory in there that I did not even really notice. I do remember seeing a couple of MTH Rail king SD70's in BNSF & NS operating in the back room on the layout in the corner!! The store was almost "brain overload" for the first time, was not sure where to start looking at stuff first!! A very nicely done store & great staff at Brady's. Will, for sure go back again!!

Thanks much for a great time at Brunch, real nice meeting you gentlemen.

Very nice Sunday train conversation, and we will have to do it again some time.

It was a nice time for sure.  And I agree, we will have to do it again.  It was very nice meeting you both

Mike

Jim,

I know you will be coming in from Homer City so maybe we could

meet at Kings in Monroeville, these other guys are coming in from North Huntingdon

and White Oak.  You would be a great one to add to the Brunch Train get together.

We did have a great time, and with your train knowledge it would be even better.

You make sure you tell your beautiful wife hello for me, tell her I still have my long NASA Train.

Remember,if traveling east on Rt 22 you have to go beyond Dick's to the light and turn left and come back a little bit.  An alternative is to exit 22 at the Wendy's traffic light and get on Old 22 and proceed to Dick's. ( a left at Mickey D's will also work, followed by a right onto Old 22)

What day are yinz meeting for breakfast?

Hi Mike:

No need to apologize for being young!  But for you young guys here’s a link to that famous song sung by Guy Mitchell in 1952 that Eddie was referring to.  Note the interesting photos from that time period:

And I can attest to eating good breakfasts at Dick’s Diner although the last time was in the 1990’s!

Bill

Gentlemen,

We will have to plan ahead to a Saturday when we all can make it, how about Saturday the 16th for breakfast at Dicks Diner, say 10:00 AM.

Andy it would be great to have you come, if you can drag Patrick H along and some of the other Hi-Railers it would be nice also.

Let me know if Saturday the 23rd is OK everybody.

Either post here or contact me at Pine-Creek@live.com

Gentlemen,

Neil posted Esther's Hobby Shop in Milvile as another Pittsburgh area O guage Hobby Shop,  If Rich Melvin will unlock my post with the list I will add the business and its telephone number to the list.  I want to put this list of O Gauge Train Businesses, with their telephone numbers in my computer favorite section for instant recall.

PCRR/Dave

To all my breakfast buddies, HEY!!!  Just read your posts.  The 23rd sounds good to me also.  I will be at York on the 21st and 22nd for the G scale train show.  I had some tentative plans for the 23rd but i think breakfast will be more fun.   Dick's is also good.  Never been there but I know where it is.  Passed it many times goin to Jim's train shop.  The more the merrier.

Let me know if it's on.

I commented about Esther's on the 'closed PGH shops' thread.

It's not 'O'.  They might have some lights or something, but in terms of track, rolling stock, engines, etc, I saw NADA.  I would NOT add it as an 'O' shop.  I was there about one month ago so my observations are very recent.
