Have any?

Firetrucks; vans; trailer trucks; pick-ups; box; delivery; tow trucks; garbage-collection; SUVs...Did I leave any out?

Would you show them to us "in situ"; that is, on-site, where you have them situated - in-context on your layout or diorama?

Here are a few of mine...5b

This is a 1950s Revel kit that was reissued. Bought the kit used and built it as a Sinclair tank truck. It's true 1:48 scale... unusual.

Gas Truck at Gas Station

The fire house has mostly Corgi 1:50 1950s American LaFrance Engines plus a newer ladder truck. The house is a one-off kit by Westport Model Works. After making this one resin kit, Les Lewis decided it wasn't working well.

I had a feeling I wasn't going to be alone in my liking for trucks on layouts, so my thanks for the "LIKES" to: PRRronbh; TShearer; MaxSouthOz; Tom Densel; Alab B;

...and for the Replies so far to: Briansilvermustang; wsdimenna; cabinet Bob; RSJB18; rattler21; Steamer; bluelinec4; Geo Peg; coach joe; gene meag; Norm Charbonneau; MaxSouthOz; rpmcobra; jay jay; Trainman2001.

Great fun seeing the variety, and to learn some new ideas, too!!          FrankM.

How about "layouts on trucks" ?  Silly me; actually the materials to build my layout on my truck.  Mark by chance you might see my post, may I ask you where  you got the simulated steel coils on the flat bed shown in one of your pics? Thank YouDSCN0004

Jackie, those coils came in a kit that I got years ago at a train show. Here is a picture of them as they came. I was hoping the label was attached but oh well. I can't for the life of me remember who made them.

Anyway, I assembled the coils and sprayed them with dullcote. After it was dry I rubbed some powdered graphite over the surface to give them a metallic sheen. I  used a Sharpie and went over the bands to highlight them.

These next photos show some coils I did make following an article in the May 2009 Model Railroader. I think these look much better and you can make them as unique as you'd like...
