VGN EL-2B

Here are some new at the factory B&W photos. In the first picture the trucks aren't the same shade as the glossy black car body. Perhaps they are a gray/black.

Jim, if I were Scott, I wouldn’t want your help if it includes publicly berating any perceived mistakes made especially since you didn’t even buy a model.

They're still not the same photograph

Did you mean "berating"?
Because, if you did, I didn't berate anything pal!
I simply provided information that I think clearly shows the "as built" units to have what I perceive as trucks that are not a conspicuous "gray".

Oh! And, BTW, you are not Scott!

Hmm... That picture does looked touched up. But why would they touch up the trucks to look more grey if that isn't what they were originally? I see many other pictures of the trucks looking grey, albeit grimmy grey.

Perhaps we should darken the grey / half way between grey and black.

Scott

I would bet it's for visibility in the marketing image, if they are indeed lightened.

The container with the VGN EL-2b and Silver Meteor Cars arrives.

There are 5 sets of 3R VGN EL-2b left. Click HERE to buy one.

There are sets in 2 Rail available from American Scale Models (Bill Davis). His email is on the same web page.

The Silver Meteor cars should be sold out, but if you want to get on stand by you may HERE.

UPS Tags for VGN will be generated today, shipping them on Friday.

UPS Tags for Silver Meteor cars will start Monday - Friday next week as each order has to be packed separately. Lots of warehouse fun at 30-40 degrees.

To all those that ordered and put their money up, THANK YOU. You make these special projects happen.mceclip2

Thanks Scott for making this happen and all the long plane rides.

Looks as if Valentines will be a lot better for trains than Christmas turned out to be.

How about starting at the bottom of the alphabet. I had a teacher who did that once to help us way down the list folks. Then we might get the Silver Meteor and EL2-B before Valentines Day. 😊

Things have gotten quiet, anyone further west than the Appalachia's gotten their engines or was the entire run shipped to the east coast, all to VA and WVA?, I do know of two going to NC.  Mine is supposed to be in 2-14, anyone want to guess the first thing that happens when I get home from work?

Scott;

Something is not right with the UPS notice I received.  According to the UPS website info the label was created on the 7th but the package has not yet been delivered to UPS for shipment.   The engine has not arrived here in Az.  Does not seem right if it was shipped from California on Friday........

Going from past experience with 3rd Rail shipments, the labels are printed in advance of the actual shipment.  The amount of time that passes between when the label is printed and when UPS actually receives a box to deliver to the customer varies depending upon how busy they are at 3rd Rail.  I usually just monitor the UPS website with the tracking number provided.  When the product is actually enroute to you, the UPS website will be updated to reflect it.  I'm not saying I'm any better than anyone else when it comes to impatiently waiting for my new toys, but you just need to be patient.

Thanks, Bob

I think that will depend on your current marital status.   Based on your course of action, that may be different on 2-15.........

IT'S HERE!!!!  Look at what Brown just brought!!!!  This thing is every bit what I expected from Sunset.  Scott hits it out of the park again.  Unfortunately my camera battery died just as I was opening it but I got a couple of pictures.  As I thought it is just as big as the UP big Blow turbine!

Both units have full ERR cruise and sound.  The horn sound is awesome!!!.  Next I will try it out on my high clearance tunnel with pans up!
