THE WEEKEND HAS ARRIVED AND IT IS NOW TIME FOR WEEKEND PHOTO FUN!

I was in the back room of the Virginia Museum of Transportation a few weeks ago and saw these, They were a little large for the layout.

 I was testing some really old track in my living room so I can run a train at church for one of our church events next weekend. I'm to cheap to go buy new track just for this.

My daughter's dog decided to supervise the process.

Great shots you guys - really like your lighting Mike! You're learning from Alan.

Here's our Southern E6's out for a run on the (deceased) layout. The Tuxedo A unit is a custom painted Lionel while the striking Tennessean is MTH. I'm offering the MTH ABA on the For Sale board this weekend to raise some cash...

Here are two photos that I posted last week on a thread concerning the modeling of highway guardrails.  I liked the photos and they got buried at the end of a thread, so I thought I would repost them here.  Top photo is from my layout, and the second photo is of the real thing.  The highway is Pennsylvania state route 103 in the tiny hamlet of Longfellow, about 12 miles west of Lewistown PA.  Scene is not quite finished.  The scene represents 1966, and the mainline of the PRR Middle Division is just out of view to the right.  The highways in PA were in deplorable condition at this time, with the emphasis being on construction of interstate highways.  You can see on the contemporary photo of the prototype that the highway is in much better condition.

Great to see everyone's photo's each week.

One of our club members had an open house to show the progress he is making on his layout. A lot more details added and some ballast going down. New buildings and a few more signs and fine details.

From a visit to Mark's open house last night;

In the distance you can see the lower part of the layout, photos below in distance.

Custom built metal bridge this is at the bottom of the stairs as you go down from the top to bottom level of the layout room.

Also in the shot above you can see the different levels of the layouts loops of track.

The 3 levels shown on the left are hidden return loops that run underneath the upper part of the upper detailed track.

G&O News - The G&O garden railroad holiday show was last weekend.  Here are a few photos.

Santa watches children running trains.  The layout has four transformers that allow children to run trains.  Two transformers control 3-rail loops and 2 control G gauge loops.

Omar Goodness, Chuck (Alentown)

It took me a while to realize where that was taken.  The building in the background is the Boy Scouts headquarters in Moosic, PA, just outside of Scranton.  Delaware-Lackawanna calls that the Laurel Line branch.  It was built during WWII so the Laurel Line (actually the Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley) interurban could serve a General Electric plant.  It uses a switchback to get there from the line now used by the Scranton trolley.

I have never seen a train on that line, although it runs through the tunnel under my house. Good catch!
