 The Adventures of the O-Gauge Railfan. Today the O-Gauge railfan was out to photograph the return of C&NW FM Train Master #8056. The big unit had been out to Boxcar Bill's for TMCC and sound upgrades. It returned with a mars light addition as well. Prior to entering service, it posed at the local depot. Of course the O-gauge railfan had to get a photo. A special Peter Witt Trolley was used to bring the added crowds to the dedication. The prototype trolley is at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum.

Look over at "Weekend at the Movies" to see the locomotive in freight service.

Best picture of the week !!!  well done

Not too much to show yet. Just a sea of blue foam.  All the track is laid and working well. All switches done and wired.  Buildings roughed in too their spot.  Hope get a real start on scenery after Christmas.

Here is a Pere Marquette 2-8-0 pulling the afternoon commuter train out of town.  She crosses over the river and will be switched out to the mainline.

Tim from the forum made the bridge for me over the summer.  It will be one of the frist areas I detail out when I get my scenery started.

Bobby, those are custom painted Lionel’s I did with sounds.

I found a couple of sets real cheap on ebay.

Islandmodelworks has the decals although the road numbers are for the trailers cars, not the electrics.

Who’s checking anyway?

Have to convert 3 more in between customer weathering jobs.

Also in the shot above you can see the different levels of the layouts loops of track.

The 3 levels shown on the left are hidden return loops that run underneath the upper part of the upper detailed track.

For the fourth year, the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks department has asked us to set up a demonstration layout for the kids at the "Downtown on Ice" festival. Here are a few photos:

They lit up the trees when the sun went down. Very nicely done.

The three big hits of the show were Thomas, the Polar Express, and the "Chips Ahoy Box (literally) Car" built by Jack "The Apprentice" Kemph.

The Metrolink train is always a hit among visitors. Metrolink has pretty high visibility in the greater Los Angeles area.

To further give a few AGHR members some grief, I brought some scale-wheeled equipment down to run on the layout. They ran very well on Lionel FasTrack.

Great photos this week so much variety.

To answer the ?'s on the photos I posted.

Again this is not my layout but a visit to a club members open house;

Mark reply's;

The street lights are MTH # 64 Highway Lamp Set and the curved steel bridge was custom built by Mainline Bridges (http://www.mainlinebridges.com/)

Mark calculated out the height and curve of his bridge did a mockup on paper all traced out full scale and sent that to the builder and got the finished model back and slipped it into place. 2 track custom built metal bridge.
