Due to an Edit problem, I had to delete my original posting and then re-enter;

When I was a kid, I lived in Brooklyn, NY and three or four times a year, we would travel to Red Bank, NJ.  We left Brooklyn on the Seabeach subway (N train now) to Penn Station then on a PRR train headed up by a GG1 to Perth Amboy where we switched to a steam engine, probably a K-4 or a H10.

Since I don't have a PRR K-4 or H10, I substituted a 2-10-4 J-1.  Here are few memories of the Perth Amboy change over in pictures on the TMB 2;

Is this a kit sold from a company? Is there a website that sells these English kits?

Hi Yes it's a shell ready built up & weathered from Skytrex ,not cheap @£100/$150 but very well made. The roof does fit properly not like in the photo. Have forwarded you their email news letter.James

TOM, so sorry for your loss.  I too love my dogs and I know we will meet up again some day.  Here is a poem to ease your loss, it was sent to me and I send it on to people that need to ease the pain.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

While most of the National Capital Trackers were out chasing or riding the real 611, I was having a great time at the Celebrate Fairfax show in Fairfax, VA. Show runs until 10 PM tonight and 10 AM-6 PM tomorrow. Not only did I have a great time running my UP stack train, it was also fun to share the experience with kids. Easy to do that with the new Cab 1-L.

Not the best of pictures, but a Pumpkin on the "B" Line from Manassas to Front Royal, VA is not something you would expect to see.  Based on the smiles, it looks like the crew may have enjoyed encountering 611 as much as we enjoyed riding behind her today.

And this fellow in Manassas certainly went all out for a high photo shot of 611.  Could make a fun little vignette.

A great day, thanks to VMT, NS, and a host of great volunteers on the train.

Very nice photos, Scott!  Since I am in this photo, I will jump in here and also add couple photos.  We went out to Rochelle Railroad Days in Rochelle, IL today.  This is a great place to watch trains!

Starting from the Left, Scott, Art (chugman), Gary, Jon (sidewinder), Ken (me…kjstrains) and Andrew.  The engine behind us is SD70M.  Art, Jon, Scott, Me were able to go up and the cab and were able to see the engineer start-up the engine and answered our questions.   It was a very nice demonstration.  We had a great time as we had lunch together and watched trains on the UP and BNSF lines in Rochelle.

Here is couple pictures of a crane we saw on the way home…

The guys took the new Alaska Genset out to pull the "Alaskan" for a run.  They like it.  Might not be used for switching so much as mainline use pulling the short (20 car) supply train.  They need to put a blade on the front since it will be hitting the mainline, but there are a few to choose from at the shop.

Rio Grande comes around the bend pulling a long string of coal cars.

Speaking of Rio Grande.... the "new to me" Galloping Goose with PS1 has been upgraded to Cruise Control and TMCC.  A new detailing job is finished (sorry you can't see the box) just the cab is partially visible.  The reason for this picture is showing the removal of the mounting posts towards the upper back of the box to add real lights instead of just red dots!  I did run just the box around without the cab on and it was SUPER smooth!  Love it.
