Absolutely nothing...zip...nada.

My attention...even prior to the July 15 announcement...has shifted to the secondary market for past gems.  Which are, IMHO, becoming even more gem-like every day.

Folks like Pat (Harmonyards) have convinced me that recycling older, well-built/detailed 'bones' is more appealing...financially, as well as technically/aesthetically...than pining for a catalog announcement that increases the heart rate...from desire () OR sticker shock ()!!!

Speaking of the heart...folks like Pat, Alex, Gunrunner, et al, are, IMHO, our hobby's renowned 'cardiologists'.  I'm not sure that the lingering hoopla over TMCC vs. DCS will ever be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.  But, should my favorite vision...Battery Power with DCC...ever gain enough traction to be in their surgical repertoire, I'll have the beautiful, affordable 'bones' for their surgical skills.

And, meanwhile, the conventional performance suffices for my enjoyment.

TEHO, though.  Enjoy the catalog.

Thanks for the reminder to relook the Lionel catalog.  I ordered the CN 2-8-0 limited production from Mr. Muffin and now I have decided to add the Maine Central 2-8-0. So now I will have two 2-8-0 arriving around the same time!

I ordered the Maine Central 2-8-0 from Lionel's webstore, you get them first that way direct from Lionel. However, you do pay full retail from Lionel. But, it doesn't bother me since we do need to support our remaining train companies with new purchases.

I have two loops on my layout and I think both 2-8-0s will look great running side by side around North Adams MA. NOTE: Someone asked if I posted TRAIN pictures. I said I  did but he could not remember seeing them... so

Badge 109 - Regarding your query about C-Liner 'B' units, I don't see anything stated about them in the latest catalog. That said, this seems to be the practice of  Lionel (and other manufacturers) in the recent past, so it's 'assumed' B units will eventually be forthcoming. However, you know the old saying about when you 'assume'.

Although I didn't see Ryan and Dave's video unveiling of the catalog, maybe they mentioned something about future 'B' units. If so, perhaps someone on the Forum who saw their catalog reveal will clarify this for you (and me).

B units will be coming out according to Ryan.  He mentioned it at least twice.   There will also be additional liveries and wheel counts.

C liner B units will be in a later release when they do the 4 axle version. None of the currently offered C-liner schemes had B units. They were single A units equipped with passenger steam generators. The 5th axle on the rear truck was added to support the weight of generator.
I would not be surprised if we see super bass B units for roads that had them such as PRR in DGLE for a future run. Don’t quote me on that. It’s just a guess.

Dj's - Did not Canadian National run C-Liner 'AA' engine sets? I seem to recall seeing CN AA photos while looking through a railroad history book in our local library, although that was a few years ago and my memory's not as good as it used to be.

I’m not a CN expert, but I’m sure they did, NY central would sometimes run an AA set of C-liners. They would also be seen MU’d with a variety of other diesels. I’m a Long Island RR collector and the C-liners on the island were never mu’d. They were used in east end commuter service.
