LOL I still have a lot of track to lay that I don't have!

Mike I wonder how tall that crane is in scale feet??  I know some of them are HUGE!!!!   I think mine may be taller but I was afraid to go out and get it with the temps in the teens!  Plastic dont like that!  Especially not 45 year old plastic lol    I am going to check out some off my army men stuff.   I think I had a few close to O scale pieces.  And I was wondering if you were gluing down the track along with the roadbed or just gluing the roadbed and screwing the track down?   I dont know if I will ever get to that stage.   I could walk in the train room tonight and decide to change something!

Yall keep looking for that unwanted Southern rolling stock lol   Bob if you have any clogging up your shelves just let me know lol

The proposed expansion looks good - it will add a lot of interesting running possibilities. Yard areas are great, but they do tend to attract all sorts of new equipment!!!

Ditto here; more sanding, filling, more sanding, primer--see the flaws, and REPEAT, darn it.

Oh, and I completely screwed up an eBay order last night that I'm trying to unwind this afternoon--fortunately the seller is a good guy.

Gary great place for a town!!   You have tons of room to work with!

I did get a bit done after work today.   Spent 2 hours on it.   Moving stuff that was stored under the 4x8 table.  Moving the 4x8 table. And opening up that wall.   Piece of cake so far.   Moving stuff is the hard part!    Wife and son both have sinus headaches so I will be doing video research the rest of the evening! : )  Just for reference …  that bump out is 4 feet straight back from this engine, and 4 feet to the right of this engine.

Apparently you don't frequent Switcher Saturday.  Check it out here

Still happily married and plan to stay that way. To let the rest of you in on the secret- Paul graciously sent me two D&H UP36's that he no longer needed. That got me started and now two more diesels and a set of passenger coaches later I'm well on my way.

Jim, Calculator says the crane is about 192 feet tall! Your constructions is looking good and from the looks of it there will be just a little touch up when your finished! LOL

Paul, Mr. Brown sure like you! LOL He hardly ever stops here, but I think the wife has something to do with that! LOL

Gary, Looks like you have a great start there! I sure hope you post more in the future!

Larry thanks! It looks like we both got good news, my granddaughter and you with your TIU & WIU!

Bob, those sure are some nice engines and passengers cars! Yes Paul is one hell of a nice guy! Always thinking of others!

This morning I hope to get something done in the train room. Not sure what but I will give it one heck of a try! LOL

Have fun in the train room, Mike! Just bring coffee and donuts with you to stave off starvation.😂

I am my own worst enemy! Having made personalized boxcars like my grandson’s first Christmas car, the little girl’s Christmas train, and the Holy Cross College car, now relatives and friends are coming out of the woodwork asking for more for themselves. So next up will be Villanova Wildcats car, Fordham Rams car, and Iona Gaels car.

Knowing I enjoy restoring postwar Lionel O gauge, my son gave me for Christmas some distressed locomotives and a beat up whistle tender.I made a video of restoring the 6466WX as a “thank you” note and YouTubed it. Basic stuff: rewiring, cleaning, and lubricating wad all it needed.

Mike;

Thanks, you are too kind... but PLEASE - I have an atrocious reputation to live up to!!!

All I do is help fellow hobbiests on the slippery slope. Nothing altruistic about it,  I just figure if I push enough of them ahead of me, they’ll form a nice cushion when I crash to the bottom... if there is a bottom

And on that note, Bob - I sent you an email.

Thanks again Mike.

Lucky for me those ALCOS don't run on 027

You guys are ALL enablers.....

Yes, but a number of years ago MTH offered PA's in their RailKing line; they run on 027. Google is your friend!

Gary, your layout looks like it will be a fun one to run trains on.  Congratulations on your progress to date.

Bob, the plan for the yard looks good!  I hope you can get it built.  The D&H engines look great!  Looks like you inspired Brian to post some D&H photographs.

Jim, Did Paul 2 inspire you to the wall demolition!  Watch out fro splinters!  Ouch!!

Started off looking at the new Lionel catalog and jotting down what I am going to order. Now I have to spend some time in the attic getting out stuff I don't want and get it ready to take to the TCA train show in Parma on Saturday. I get that out of the way and I can get back to finishing taking out the wall. Did place an order for another Menards double track bridge. I was on the Scenic Express site looking for bridge abutments to go with the bridges. Here is where I'll toss out a question to you guys................Are bridge abutments suppose to be as wide as the bridge is or can the abutment be wider. The Menards bridge is 8 7/8" wide and the double track abutment from Scenic Express is 10 1/2" wide. Any help appreciated. Now to the attic...........Paul

Bridge abutments depend on numerous engineering studies regarding what's it bridging, what's its designated load, etc. Get out of your train room and drive around looking at some bridges. Or at least, use Google Images to look at a few dozen bridge abutments.

Hey Bob, i remember when I was a kid walking the track's the the bridge abutment was always atleast 3 feet on each side of the bridge! We would sit up there and watch other kids jump off into the river!

Began body work on the three TCA 15" aluminum convention cars I recently purchased after paint removal the previous two days.  Ran out of Testors contour putty which worked well on the PW F3 A and B units mid-way through the to-be NP NCL offset dome; so, switched to a new tube of Squadron Green putty for the metal TCA cars.  Label says it's sandable in 30 minutes--I'll give it two hours and that will allow me to do the other sides of the three.

Also, got out an old NYC B&W photo book by Ed Nowak to send to a pal on the forum and packed it up for USPS to pick-up tomorrow.

On a financial note because it funds the trains, sold a couple of golf apparel items on the bay which USPS picked up today.  These were noteworthy since they'd been listed for about 5 months and both sold the same day to different buyers--go figure.

Josef, Those shark screens look great!!  What I wonder is why did the manufacturer put the inserts in place in the first place.

Probable so someone could would open them up and see the neat wiring that was done? You think? The wiring is neat, probable the best I seen.

For sound, these are my favorite all 3 rumble at a different tone and I like to start them up one at a time before switching to Lash-up control. Seems with the inserts out, sound even is better then before.

Got up in the attic to find more stuff to take and sell at TCA Parma show Saturday. There is more but the old knees can't handle the wood floor so tomorrow morning heading for Menards to pick up those interlocking rubber mats. But today I still managed to work some more of the wall. I had to hunt for my chiesel which took a bit of time so I could spit the wood around the cable wire but I got an added plus. I found my second small bag of Gar Graves screws. Maybe after dinner I can get back down there to rip out the last of the wood and get the old shelf unit out and cut up. Trying to stay ahead of Jim and his demolition project LOL. Then I will be ready to start the table. Only one pic...........Paul
