I’m going to try this one more time! Apparently I keep posting on the wrong forum, and getting everyone very excited. I had a very nice discussion going with some New York Central experts here on the forum, under the real Trains topic. But because I posted a photo of a model train of mine it got deleted and apparently ticked off a few people. Sorry, not intentional! Here is a photo of a Lionel TMCC E7 locomotive, and my trivia question is as follows: what did Lionel get wrong in relation to the prototype? There is probably more than one Answer, but there is one very glaring error.

That’s certainly true, but there’s a worse one. The original 1945 order of E7s actually did contain 2 units painted black instead of gray, but they were numbers 4002 and 4003, not 4008! They were soon repainted to the standard gray paint scheme. Many freight units (F7s etc) did get black paint but not the passenger locos.
