Good luck on your pacemaker, you should do great, i had Afib and a leaking mitral valve and had both taken care of by the Cleveland Clinic years ago and have been doing great ever since

I do not normally open your posts as you deal in new product and I buy mostly old used two-rail stuff but the "personal" tag caught my eye so I decided to open it. I am glad that things are looking good and prayers will be offered. Get well quickly.

Ref Personal note! Speedy recovery on pacemaker! I'm coming up on 1st year in July also will reach "4 score" in July! Straight forward procedure. Just like the old dry cleaners slogan "in by 9 out by 4 !"

I got the SP 2-6-0 Mogul and it runs Great. I got a Pacemaker in January and it straightened out my heartbeat,feel better than last year,good luck.

You are in my prayers! Please do what the doctors say and put yourself first. As they say you can’t help others if you do not take care of yourself.

Again just follow your docs! I had a silent heart attack and triple bypass two and a half years ago. I am doing fantastic because I religiously followed what my doctors said.

Pretty much straight forward heart routine. You’ll be up and moving about right afterwards.
I had a single bypass down on the main artery to the aorta aka the widow-maker about 1 1/2 years ago. I knew something was not right, felt winded from running a little, felt dizzy from getting up off the floor at times and had chest pains every so often. Was time to get this checked out and real glad I did!
It was like a car tuneup. I can run and swim without any feelings of being lightheaded or winded.
Walk or ride a bike when you can! I get tired at the end of the day like everyone else and not early in the day!

Everytime that I see the word Pacemaker, I remember my 1st O-gauge train set.

It was and is a Marx O-27 NYC 0-4-0 steamer with a few freight cars,

The caboose was emblazoned with the slogan “NYC Pacemaker “.

Hang in there Beth.  I recently had to have a surgery.  The light finally went on I am not 30 anymore.  It "reset" my outlook on life.  The psychological implications can be tougher than the physical ones.  Keep a positive attitude!  Best of Luck.

Beth, getting a pacemaker was a great thing for me.  Improved my stamina, and general health in every way.  I am not aware of what it's doing, or even its presence...all I know is I feel 100 percent better.  I'm sure it will help you as well.

Hi Beth, I totally agree with everyone on this list especially Melgar, the trains can wait.  Your health is far more important than the trains.  You will feel like a Spring Chicken once you get that PM put in and it is running well.  Two years ago they called me from the Dr's office and told me to get my mom to the ER, she was 95, said she had some problem, I got her in there and what we took her in for turned out that she was about to have a heart attack, they put in a PM and she firing on all 8's now.

Wish you success with the installation with your pace maker.  Our bodies are an amazing machine when it’s working just right.  We are so fortunate that there are so many smart people out there working to help us.

I don’t have firsthand experience with heart issues.  I only know Following the Doctors orders are so important.

Beth - as many before me have said, take care of yourself. YOLO. As as an aside, and not to make light of your concerns, pacemaker insertions are pretty much routine, and free from complications.
