More information leads to more accuracy.

Williams makes/made four different locos called F units.

Williams EMD F3 units are almost scale. They need to be 1/4" taller to be full scale size.

Williams EMD F7 units are scale size, but some folks complain about the nose contours.

Williams Alco FA-1 are scale size and highly detailed.

Williams Alco FA-2 are very small - the same size as K-Line FA units and Lionel FA units from the 50's.

I've been asking myself this question for a while since I really enjoy running traditional more than scale and the Williams price point is too good to ignore. From what I gathered from various topics on this is it seems they are closer to scale size than they are to traditional size, which is what RoyBoy indicated, but I am interested to see what you think if you go through with the purchase.
