Took the Berkshire and TCA coaches to the NAROGG (Northants and Rutland O Gauge Group) running day today. Great day out! The loco ran smoothly on 12vDC, whistle works, coaches look good. The Scout 2-4-3 was in great form, too. An American airman from the base at Mildenhall came by with his dad’s post-war Lionel loco, and with some tlc it was sent galloping round, he was well pleased!

"The Scout 2-4-3 was in great form, too."

Yeah, buddy - those 2-4-3's always did run well.

(OK, I'm sorry - I know that it's a typo; glad somebody besides me runs those "2-4-3's" and "4-6-5's".)

FWIW, a friend of mine went into the USAF in the late 60's and was stationed at Mildenhall for a year or so, I do seem to recall him saying later on. I think that was the name.
