Dennis, nice win! Is that a 45 RPM record I see lurking down there amongst the innards?

George

If not mistaken from what I have read it is effectively a 78.

Really nice find Dennis! Have you tried the record and does it work?

I found this on that one site the day before my birfday. Ive been looking for this for a year and a half. The frame is a Micheal's off the shelf. Looks nice

I purchased this print back in 2001 because it reminded me of a time just before Christmas, 1949, when my mother took my brother and me to Madison Hardware to buy our first Lionel train set, a 224 engine set.  My brother and I were just like the two boys in the picture, totally fascinated by the trains in the window.  Here is my print with custom frame and signed by Angela;

Haven't tried it just yet, I did clean it up some and set it aside so I could do some more layout cleaning.... Hoping to get down to the actual layout soon so I might be able to run some trains.....

John,

Please repost the photos so that they will all be able to be viewed in large format instead of thumbnails.  Doing so will be a service to the forum viewers who would like to see detailed shots of your famous locomotive.

John, it's almost cliche to say what a beautiful engine that is, but every single time I see one, I fall in love with it all over again. You managed to get a really pretty one. I wish we lived closer so I could come visit you ... and your Hudson!!! Way to go, and I hope you're enjoying it!

George

I managed to score this beautiful Lionel LEGACY model of the famous Union Pacific FEF-3 Northern from another forum member, and in my personal favorite scheme she was in - as no. 8444 with the silver boiler front and trim. I knew I had to complete it with a matching set of UP passenger cars, which are by MTH, and also bought from another forum member.

It makes a truly impressive train. Gotta love the whistle steam effect. I at first thought I would prefer the original LEGACY version’s whistle, but after having it in person, the new version’s whistle has grown on me a lot.

I bought another 6-19196 online, cheap and unrun. I had an idea about swapping the rear door. I bought an Empire State Express door from NL Trainworks. Was not surprised to see that it wasn’t an exact fit. imageF1630E7C-D2BB-42BD-983B-5046B1778546After a bit of cutting with a razor saw and sanding, I have the fit I’m looking for. imageI have a unique NYC Empire State Express passenger set, just by swapping the observation car. I’ll probably glue some white Mylar inside the window to keep the silhouette style window motif on the rear.

Hi,  Added two reverse loops to my S Gauge (2-rail) layout at my son's request.  I wanted automatic operation and John at Azatrax came to the rescue with 4 pairs of IR sensors, a momentary MRD8 detector and a latching relay. The sensors are mounted in the roadbed and the system works flawlessly.  Here's the temporary panel.

JohnsGG1, Congratulations On acquiring the best of the best, Lionel Hudson, with display track. I’ve see these in person as two of my friends have them, but I’ve never seen the display track.  Wow. Very nice.

CoolHand, very nice Observation cars, very nice.

Mikado 4501, Niw that’s a great looking locomotive, great fun to watch video. That’s a great sounding FEF. Very nice.

I purchased some lights, little people, a semaphore, mostly new, from a forum member, and my dealer ABC HOBBYSHOP in Evansville Indiana, just before the Coronavirus lock down.  Happy Railroading, and Happy Easter Everyone.5427735D-F6B2-43CF-A011-A32D07962E57

Scored 2 items this week!  First is an MTH 2500HP Baldwin transfer diesel dummy.  These are surprisingly hard to find and my plan is to gut another MTH engine to power it up.  Just what I need, another project!

Second is the 2003 version of the NYC L2a Mohawk.  This is a gorgeous engine and I got it for a song!  My grandson has been running it non-stop for 2 days now.
