Good morning and welcome, once again, to STEAMday Sunday, the place to post photos, videos and comments about your favorite steam locomotives of all kinds.

Thank you, Melgar, for starting this thread last Sunday with such an interesting and informative initial post.

Please remember, my dear Forum friends, to follow the Forum Terms of Service in all respects, including posting photos and videos you have taken or those in which you have received the written permission of the owner to post.

Below is a video of an MTH PS2 Pennsylvania S2 steam turbine hauling MTH passenger cars past my new engine house that you can see in the distance at the beginning of the video, and past Yankee Stadium:

Now, let’s see the steamers you would like to share today.

Hello Steam Crazies!  My grandson, Isaac, visited last week.  We ran his favorite train, my MTH Premier B&M P3 Pacific with seven MTH Railking Madison passenger cars.  He requested a change of motive power to my postwar Lionel 2-6-4 no. 2035; I expressed my doubt the 2035 could handle the train, but agreed to give it a try.

Well, I shouldn’t have doubted the old girl.  She handled the train with ease.  No wheel spin and speed to spare!

Next Sunday: we find out if my postwar Lionel 736 Berkshire is also up to the task of hauling this train.  No wagers allowed!

John

Photos and videos show my model of Boston & Maine K-7c Class 2-8-0 Consolidation #2403 pulling two B&M wood-sided truss-rod passenger coaches on my 12’-by-8’ layout. The locomotive is a Weaver die-cast model (1809LP) of a Baldwin Consolidation and the coaches were made by Lionel with tooling originally developed by MTH. Atlas O recently announced a production run of Baldwin Consolidations using the tooling developed by Weaver. They will have PS3 electronics and are scheduled for delivery later this year.

B&M #2403 was the last 2-8-0 to be retired by the B&M. It remained in passenger service around Boston until at least September 1954 and was scrapped in June 1955.

B&M #2403 had an operating weight of 288,000 pounds (engine and tender with coal and water). The engine weight was 170,000 pounds with 148,000 pounds on its 61-inch-diameter driving wheels. It ran at a boiler pressure of 200 psi and produced 33,443 pounds of tractive effort.

Thanks so  much Arnold for keeping the boiler fired up and getting us rolling today! ... and good morning fellow steam fans!    Here are some shots of steam locomotives taken over the last few years.

A side by side of the MTH RailKing and Lionel scale 0-8-0s.  The RailKing is indeed scale!

The MTH 0-8-0 is a candidate for weathering soon.
