Hi All, Didn't buy this, went to a garage sale and the nice man just gave it to me. H wanted me to take some HO stuff, but didn't know what I would do with it. The barn style building I was thinking if I added a foundation to it I could make it a maintenance shop.

From King and Country, an Asian outfit making metal painted toy soldiers. As a Mauldin collector, I simply HAD to get them. I've discussed this with Mauldin Biographer Todd DePastino, and he agreed with my assumption that the family didn't sign off on these at all.And for those of you wondering why I had to have them, just watch this video, from which you might recognize the talking head guy...

I could think of several uses. Free is always good.
As for the Bn units. Never thought I would start going there but very hard to pass up. It actually fits with layout as the C&S units didn't get repainted until a couple of years after the merger so SD40 and U30C both in the Chinese red scheme along with the SD 9 will fit right in. My only real disappointment was the 3rd Rail C&S SD 9 was ordered in the Chinese red scheme. C&S SD 9 #831-842 was first units delivered (4/59 )in the Chinese Red Scheme. Cant have it all.

As for that video, that was a great gig, as they paid to get me down to Burbank, put me up overnight and even got me a car for the day. I got to spend most of the day hanging around R Lee Ermey. Such a funny and nice man. Later in the day, after my segment was done, I watched him do a segment on cowboy pistols, in an old Western set. The filmed that show at Sable Ranch in Santa Clarita.

Yes I was aware he wore glasses and have seen a few pics with him wearing them. The guy sitting down comment was aimed at you. Since you are another one who sometimes does not wear glasses in your photos.

Its funny My best friend is a marine and I always laugh at him when ever we watched full Metal Jacket. When Lee Ermey started his rant on Paris Island. He would start sweating turn white and start cringing. Of course I went through FT Knox for basic and AIT (C trp 6 of the 6th Cavalry , 1st Armor Training Brigade). and it was nothing like Stripes except for the briefing at the reception center and the hair cut scene. We had a guy with a Mohawk and the drills had a field day with him. I still have fond memories of Heartbreak, Misery, and Agony. Not!!

Yep, that's the two Lees. One of the funniest people and nicest actor I've ever met. Once he realized I was there for on-screen purposes as well as still a reserve Army Captain at the time, he was very nice to me.
Been looking for this set for a few years. Scored it on E-Bay. I was at the right place at the right time.

THE DMRRC • 2017 Wall Calendar
The Detroit Model Railroad Club is selling their 2017 wall calendar. I am Mr. December, so I purchased 4 copies, my wife wants to purchase two more as gifts. I will have one for my train room and 5 as gifts.
This is become an excellent fund raiser for the DMRRC.

I just scored (2) Weaver 20" 5 cars sets to add to my varnish collection. I am adding 3 of the Santa Fe cars(2 domes and 1 coach) to make for an 11 car consist at this weekends show in Hamburg NY with the FCTT(Flower City Tinplate Trackers).

Got in three 1/43 cars at a reduced price. One was a 1933 Graham as a used car for my 1940 Graham dealership, (there is supposed to be a 1937 Graham coming that l want for it, too) Another was a 1939 Pontiac from a Pontiac series Brooklin is doing like their Buick series, but of which l have seen few examples offered here (both came out of GB). Brooklin seems to be doing more pre-1940 cars, but expensive . I have glommed a few used.
Got a dozen AF cars at the train show in Hartly, DE today:

3 NOS Lobaugh DC motors. Looks like '50's technology to me and doubt the recommended Mallory rectifier is still available. No plans on what to use these in but will play around with running them under TMCC.

Just bought the MTH Railking KDKA Radio (1950's) Boxcar at Just Trains yesterday. Very sharp.
My mother in-law bought me this clock at a garage sale.
I stopped by Hardwoods, Hardware, and Hobbies in Boise, Idaho yesterday. I walked in and met the owner Pat who was wearing a Lionel T-shirt. There was a Lionel anniversary set running in the front window. Even with this promising first impression, he did not have a single piece of o-gauge rolling stock for sale. He stated that he plans on adding o-scale rolling stock to his store in the near future. He did however have a great assortment of woodland scenics supplies. He also had a great selection of wooden detail, freight, and other wood carved pieces for sale. This was a great little shop, with a lot of potential. If you're ever in Boise, check it out.

went with my Dad to a local show, and found a few things. $10 box I got for $5 for just looking at it,$4 Marx tower, some Postwar trucks for projects, and a 1719 I've been looking for.

yes it was Jim. the weather scared off some sellers, but it was still a nice show. could have spent more than I did (as always). nice show, plenty of room, and a good bit of O Gauge,some Flyer,some Marx,even saw an Ives piece or two, and plenty of HO.
we got just a coating on the ground, and wet roads.
WE have had snow most of the day, about 4" total so I took apart my Standard gauge tank car and ran trains.
It has been 10 years since I was at the Monaca show. I lost track of when they hold it. Actually there are so many small shows and open houses this time of year in the Tri-State area, I wouldn't get to them all if I had no other commitments at all.
Thank you, Dave! I think this is a different location from where they had it 10 years ago. Just about an hour no matter which of 3 routes I take. That will be a good alternative if it is nice that day, but snowy the weekend of the Greenberg show like it was this year. I'm printing the flyer to keep in my stack. 
yeah when I first started going in the early '90s, it was at the PNA Hall, then they moved to Center Stage near the Beaver Valley Mall. They moved a mile or so down the road when the new owners jacked up the hall rental fees.
