@Dallas Joseph- Those are beautiful Alco's, whether or not the silver is prototypical. I have the Lionel 2023 in silver and I love it. OK ... one question and please pardon my ignorance, what does the term "RK" mean? Thanks.

Thanks Bob. I'm going to have to work on them later.
Buy? No. But Eric, the Razorback Traction Co.'s Acquisition Officer, NYC Office, did send a goodie box:
Incidentally, Packengers did a superlative job of packing. The contents arrived intact!
Disintegrated wheels notwithstanding, the motor pulls nice and strong and the reverser works!
I will be putting an order in for parts in the near future, and the "Laramie Peacock" (extra trivia points if you can figure out the name) will be gracing RTC rails!

Ever get so excited about wanting to finish a project, that you miss the foresight of what SHOULD have been done first? When I installed the upgrade kit on my UP GP9 B unit yesterday, I failed to notice that even the upgraded trucks with the silver sides were not Harbor Mist Gray, but black! It wasn't until I had changed out the trucks, installed and connected the LCRX circuit board, and put everything. back together that I noticed the front of the trucks were black and not gray.
It wasn't until reading gunrunnerjohn's Chrome Finish On Plastic post this morning, that I remembered I have an unfinished painting project to complete. So, I just completed the front pilots of the trucks and fortunately, I had a bottle of UP's Harbor Mist Gray. It's a little darker, but still looks better than black. If I'd had the foresight, it would have been easier to paint the front of the trucks BEFORE they were installed onto the frame. But oh well, it was a quick job and finally finished.
So, I promise that these photos are the last of my GP9B you'll see in this thread.
Mitch, so we're gonna see green on the RTC, no repaint? Forgive me for calling it green, I grew up with the Crayola 8 pack, not the 64.
This arrived yesterday.
I've been wanting a Genesee reefer for my beer trains for a while. There have been several versions on eBay, this LOTS convention one, several different Weaver products. Finally found this one for a price I was happy with. Now I have a Genny to go with Jim Sutter's Genny Light.
The only issue, I found the little part below, in the clam shell. I can't find two empty holes that look like they would accept this little part. Any ideas of where this belongs?

Yeah, it's going to be "Peacock Premium". No repaint, though I am on the lookout for prewar red Pullmans to go with my red 248...

Joe, I recently got an Atlas car where the door guides are made up of several of those guys instead of a solid strip.

Purchased these first four Lionel Line 2500 series cars, 2530, 2531, 2532, 2534 cars for $175 at Hamburg train meet beginning of June. Last week I purchased the 2533 from Trainz. All four pass. cars are the same w/small rivets holding the name plates on and lighting connections underneath .
I did replace the dome in the 2532 vista dome car. The paint was wore away, so I purchased an oem to replace it.
Oiled the axles, they roll w/no problems, all five can be pulled around w/ 2056 or 682, or 681,or a 1656 w/ no problems
2533 from Trainz.
