Service Related Update – Canadian National Railway : 11/28/12

On Saturday, November 24th, a rockslide occurred along the Ashcroft subdivision of the CN main line near the station of Falls Creek, BC. The incident, which was reported on November 24th at 1210hrs PDT, is currently causing delays to mainline trains running between Kamloops, BC and Vancouver, BC.

CN Engineering has been working at the site on a 24-hour basis since it was determined the terrain had stabilized and it was safe to conduct track repairs. Recovery efforts are ongoing at this time. CN will advise once the site is cleared and normal operations are able to resume.
Affected traffic is detouring along the CP main line. Trains running along the detour route are incurring delays of approximately 12 hours.
CN continues to follow the situation very closely and will post further information on their web page as it becomes available.

Customers concerned about their shipments scheduled to move through the affected region are encouraged to contact their CN Customer Service Representative for the most accurate, timely information: http://www.cn.ca/en/customer-s...railway-status.shtml.
