I probably already guess the answer is no but here goes.

Due to a "quirky" way two turnouts need to be wired, can the AIU or the remote be programmed so two SW ports simultaneouly operate? The Z1000 turnout motors cannot be wired together (geen to yellow, yellow to green wires, only like colors), as they stop working, so need to toggle them simultanously (searched Ross and ZStuff with no solutions). Was thinking of just letting the derail rails flip the motors, but there would be a delay until train got to other turnout which makes my Custom Signals system display incorrectly until the other turnout is set correctly (don't want to kill Lionel people).

Yeah I know big deal, only toy trains, but wanted to get as close to real as possible without spending big $$$ Big Grin. I do have a solution albeit somewaht clunky involving relays that will solve the problem, but thought I would ask others.

Sam,

I have several pairs of DZ1000 motors setup this way and it's easy to do.

Wire as follows:
• First, connect the outside wires from the two DZ1000s together. Make sure that the wires are paired so that each pair of wires are those that throw their switches in the same direction. Then, connect the pairs of wires to terminals "1" and "2" of an AIU SW port.
• Next, connect the center wire from each motor to Hot.
• Last, connect a wire between Common and terminal "IN" of the same AIU SW port.

Now, program the AIU SW port just as you would for one switch track. If the pair of switches throw so that one is opposite of how it should be, swap the wires from one of the DZ1000s where they are connected between the two DZ1000s. If they throw together correctly, except they throw straight when they should throw curved, swap the wires between the AIU's terminals "1" and "2".
Mike,

It's easy when you are connecting L and L and R and R (the outside wires). But what about when doing L to R and L to R? I don't think that works.
If you think about it a bit, you'll see that wiring R-L and L-R does, indeed, work just fine.

The only difference between the L and R terminals is in which direction they throw the switch. Electrically, they do the same thing.

Barry,

While you are technically correct. IF you are only connecting to an AIU or SC-2 then everything is OK. BUT, if you want to use the DZ-1002 remote as well then swapping the L and R wires will cause the LEDs to light incorrectly and at times not at all. So, then one can mount the switch machine on thew other side of the track.

Dennis,

I agree, however, the question didn't call for more than just tying the two machines to the same AIU ACC port.

Regardless, after wiring over 100 of the DZ1000s and not always having the luxury of simply being able to mount the motor on the other side of the switch, I've learned how to swap LEDs for the DZ1000s and DZ1002s so that all the lights are in sync.

However, I didn't think it was appropriate to post a long description of how to solve a problem that wasn't presented.
