I have a DCS remote that has some black spots in the display. They are right where some of the locomotive information along with other information on different menus.

I understand these parts are no longer available, however I was able to get a compatible replacement from AliExpress.

my question is who can replace it for me?

I don’t have the soldering capabilities to change it myself.D6B6DF8E-4C79-49A5-8B7D-F05962B6CA17C3B7F4C5-6E24-45F1-AAC2-4C93DB56288CAE54C085-E74F-4724-8D5A-495F16B56049

Got a link to AliExpress for these?  My repair bench one has a blob.

OK, bad news, my first attempt with the specific display linked that is "supposed" to be compatible with the Displaytech 32122A BC BC is not in fact working 100%. One factor is how the display area seems to be split and this is more obvious with the contrast set up high.

With the contrast set high, the character dot areas are more visible. The problem is that gap between them.

So then an engine menu is barely even usable. Also, it appears to be either data corruption or other issue as the characters move right? Again, to me, looks like the controller of the LCD cannot handle the speed of communications or some other issue??

Contrast reduced but still the errors (missing dots on the D in Advanced)

Now to be fair, this is a sample size of one. I've checked and rechecked the soldering, the data lines are all intact. But, given the image with high contrast showing the dot area to be different, I'm going to say maybe this isn't the best and compatible replacement screen. Again, as of right now, I cannot say for sure this LCD from here is 100% compatible https://www.aliexpress.com/i/2...ewayAdapt=4itemAdapt

The pictures I posted earlier of a repair I did previously of my own remote was using a genuine Displaytech brand 32122A screen. That source has dried up. Again, this link and specific one in the past worked- but may not be available.

Again, FWIW, I ordered 5 screens myself from aliexpress so until I try a swap of a few examples and get the same result, I cannot say for sure 100% if it's a fluke, a one off, a mistake, or really just not compatible. Sorry to anyone who ordered based on info posted- I honestly do my best to check things- but you don't know until you have a sample in hand.

There are different versions of the display so they all are not compatible.  Additionally, MTH had a change to the main PCB so sometime a mod is required for the brightness if I remember correctly.  G

I'm sure that knowledge is gone into the ether, so we'll just have to live with the brightness unless someone has had it done and we could reverse engineer the mods.
