I also downloaded Railmodeller recently and purchased the license. I like the features, you can input all your track stock by part number and as you build your layout, a quick glance at the parts list will show you instantly any additional parts you need to purchase over and above your existing inventory. 

Another great feature I discovered is that if you download the free app "iRunTrains" you can export your layout in .slif format and load it in iRunTrains to test it out and see how it performs. This is real nice if you are trying to get a reverse loop and stuff worked out. 

For a change, we Mac users have a choice for designing our layouts without having to install bootcamp etc to see what we are doing. I find Railmodeller fairly intuitive and plenty of features.
