Device for DCS WI-FI suggestions

I use 3 different Android devices and they all work well. My girl's old phone, a Samsung Tab E 8" and a Samsung Tab A 10"?.

Our grandson came over with an older iPhone and that also worked well. I really think it's what you can get your hands on. Anything lying around there?

 I couldn't get my Amazon Kindle tablet to work. (It got hacked as I was making software changes. ) Others have got it to work. So I would not suggest that one, but it's how good you are with software and these devices.

I have been using Android devices ,old phone with the memory almost used up but enough room for the app. A $100 phone  and just use the Wifi no phone activation works well. Google tablets and Kindles.  When the kids want fancy new phones,  Daddy gets the old one for the trains

If you're going Android then stick to the major brands which will have a more recent version of the Android OS and usually release updates. I use an iPhone and iPad and never had any issues to be honest.

I am a Mac user and have never owned a PC. So I use an iPhone 11 Pro to operate a large home layout.  During the Christmas break my adult son and his family spent three nights at my house and we ran trains. He used an android phone to run the trains.  I have four main lines. He ran two locos and I ran two locos, all went well.

I do run the MTH DCS Wi-Fi through my xfinity system. We have found this process to be very successful.

I love my kindle. Big screen and works with dcs and the lionel app. They are cheap too!

I use an old iPad mini that is up to date as far as it can go. Will not download new iOS it is that old. It functions perfectly fine and works every time.

Joe, Yes it is an amazon kindle - it is maybe two years old.  HD fire with a 10 inch screen.

Lionel Legacy Apps, iCab and LCS (not LionChief) only work on iOS devices if that plays into your decision.
