download manual

On the bottom of the engine there is a volume pot. It is usually blue with a white center. The pot for smoke is the same so look for words on either side of the pot. Use a small screwdriver.

I just tried to get the manual but it looks like MTH's site is down again.

No pot for volume, no hidden panels to remove, and no smoke control...
I'm familiar with what you're talking about, I run (almost exclusively) MTH engines. This one is a bit different. I do like the history instead of the passenger station protosounds.

I also want to see if I can run the AA unit with only a single A unit or if it will mess something up with the electronics.

I am also in need of an operating manual. I purchased the MTH Union Pacific Propane Turbine 20-2261-1 at an estate sale. We found the original box but could not locate the manual. If anyone has the manual and could make a copy for me it would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a pic of the engine below. Thanks

I went to the MTH website to print a copy of the manual but It appears that MTH only loaded the even numbered pages on its website for the Propane Turbine. Must have been loaded on Friday at 4:59....

Finally go through to MTH and they are sending me the manual......for free! They may be hard to get in touch with but they do take care of their customers.

Norm- How did you contact MTH?

I think if you look on the bottom, you'll find the volume pot partially hidden under one of the trucks, looks to be to the rear of the front truck.  It'll be a silver shaft with a slot.

So, which train (product number) do you have? I am curious now as I could not find anything on 30-2039-1.

getting some new stuff for layout.  Any new scenic vignettes this year?

I'm converting the polar express mountain into an alien storage facility for the Area 51 set. I'm putting in peep holes and setting a lava lamp inside to illuminate the area. Next year the mountain will be a volcano with a dinosaur train. Should be fun-

We are taking a break from the PE stuff this year, we ran it the last couple years and want to freshen things up a bit. We have the wabash e8 and the sp daylight as new additions to the roster.
