Here's my ends of the front kind for this fine Friday!

Having completed some switching assignments in Brewtown, Washington Terminal Co's RS 1 number 46 deadheads through Butler Junction as it takes the grade crossing at Patsburg Ave.

Western Maryland BL2 number 81 crew stops for a red signal as Washington Terminal number 63 is stopped on the adjacent track, also for a red signal.  Engineer Puffy Lawson leans out of the BL2 cab and yaks it up with brakeman Carson Link.  Meanwhile WTC brakeman Scruffy Hastings looks on hopping to exchange a few pleasantries with the Western Maryland boys.

Today on a very hot Friday, 90 deg, I wanted to post an unusual locomotive.  It is the Wells - Brimtoy "Silver Streak" which was created to honor, King George the V 's Silver Jubilee in 1936.  This locomotive used the same tooling and the same number as the #2509 Silver Link which was a 4-4-0 .  Here they left off the leading bogie and it is a 0-4-0.  This dating from about 1938.  Clockwork and using 2-rail sectional track.  It has a beautiful tender and some coaches in a matching color scheme but alas, I have never found them for sale.  (A great picture of the entire set can be found in Michael Foster's Book, "British Toy Trains - Book 3", page 168)

So here is a great front end for today...lithographed tinplate all the way!

Brimtoy SS 2

Here is what she looks like from the side.

Brimtoy SS 1

Here she is nosing past the Brimtoy switch box with the "Britannia" steam loco in the background.
