I have 2 lionel EM -1 the painted b&o and the pilot version I can't get them to stop squeaking I have oiled and greased every place there is I even took the brake shoes off because someone said that this may be the problem does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do if so my email is gpamikeh1@comcast.net

Have you tried putting oil on the face of each wheel where the rods rub the wheels, like around the hex nuts, rod screws. I have had this problem before and it fixed the noise.

If they are the legacy version the squeaking you here could be in the sound set. It is most likely at slow speed and it is the sound of the frame flexing just like the real thing.
