JEP clockwork floor train- how big is it?

These are not mentioned in the JEP books on trains, so I do not know.

Dennis, it is bigger than the 222 you have bought, 1.5 more approximately. It never had a tender and it is a very light tin.

Don't have enough projects ???? 

So it is probably also smaller than standard or 1 gauge and bigger than 0 gauge.   I'll let it go, it just looked really interesting though.

This looks like a Memo unit. Possibly they built it for them? #602, 702 and 802 floor locos pictured here. 

That's the only picture? I always like it when someone lays a ruler down or a dollar bill, so you can get an idea of size.

The question is..,can you convert it to O gauge whilst still preserving its character?

That was the intent.  The impression I got was that it was too big for 0 and too small for STD, plus the price went up a bit so I let it go.  I'd have had to cut the wheels off the sides to do what I wanted as well.

Not a valuable piece. i would say between 30 and 50  USD.

I have never seen a price guide for any of the French toy trains (JEP, LR, CR, Hornby France....) like there is in England (Ramsay's) and Germany (Koll's, Schiffmann's). Is there anything like that?

There is no French price guide, you have to refer to eBay, auction prices and some experience to determine  a quote. Maybe 15 years or more one has been published, made by Clive lamming, the name was "argus du train miniature" but is is not usable today, even when published prices where not really realistic and today it is totally out of reality.
