Right now I have a 5x16 layout that is 2 1/2 x 6 tables laid end to end and one side ways.  It includes some 2x4 tables on one side for a yard.  It is congested and hard to work on one side.  We hope to move and I think I may can route the tables into a large rectangle with a large hole in the middle, and convert my inner loop with 42 inch curve to 54 inner and outer so I can run bigger trains inside as well as outside.  I thought of just running two mainlines and put the yard inside the vacant space off the inner loop, and very little buildings.  There must be a better solution, so I am open to ideas.  right now I run real trax with a Lionel Mallet, CSX sd70, C& A and MTH PA passenger with madison(premier) cars and the rest is rail king stuff.  I thought of converting to fast trax so I can get lionels operating crossing.  I have a more open basement where we are planning on moving.
