Legacy with 3 Tracks

Legacy will control your entire layout.  The black signal output post on the base should be connected to the outside (ground) rails of each loop.  If you wired your transformers to use a common ground, then a single connection to the common ground is all that's needed.

Tracker John, thank you for your help.  Do you mean from the "U" output from the Legacy base, have 3 individual black wires together connected to the back of the Legacy Base and each going to each of the 3 oval layouts?

The Legacy signal output is the big black binding post on the back of the base.  See page 6 of the Legacy Control System manual that came with the base.  Connect the black wires as you described.

Connecting Legacy to an existing layout is about as easy as it gets!

• Unpack the Legacy system.
• Connect the command base track terminal to an outside rail
• Plug in the command base
• Start running Legacy/TMCC trains

Gunrunnerjohn. Thank you. But the question was: I have 1 Legacy CAB2 with base. But I have 3 independent layouts. 36, 48, and O72 fastrack oval layouts independent of one another.  36 inner 48 middle and 72 outer. Do I need to run a wire from Legacy base to all 3 or just 1 will suffice? All 3 are solo and not connected to one another. Please advise. Dr Rich 

The Legacy Base signal can broadcast to adjacent tracks.  You may luck out and connect just the middle loop (YMMV), but its best to connect all three loops since they are isolated from each other ( and I am assuming you have discrete power supplies for each loop).   If the loops share a power supply, then connect the base to the U terminal of the power supply.

Yes, connect all the outer tracks with a hard wire, then it'll all work, or it should.

What gunrunnerjohn said, but I would like to point out, you don't have to connect the outer rails at the track. If your transformers for each loop are near each other, you can add the jumper there, that's what I do. I use the simpler Cab1L and blue CommandBaseL or whatever its called. Shouldn't matter.
