I purchased a nice Lionel 101 bridge awhile back, and eventually found some 3-tie track sections that fit it. When fitting the track, it quickly becomes obvious that the sections won't butt perfectly and the track joiners must be bent slightly to accommodate the grade-change (pictured here slightly askew to illustrate the angle):

Were these bridges supplied with purpose-designed track sections? Presuming the joiners will need to be bent, what's the best way to do that? Probably about a 15-degree bend is required.

Thanks for any input.

I don't have an answer for your question concerning original track but I can offer some thoughts on the pin issue.  In my case the bridge came without track so I had to provide it.  The "modern" -as in ca 1970's Lionel track - did not have the correct tie spacing so I had to make those adjustments first.  While doing this I realized the easiest way to bend the pins was to remove the pins from the straight piece on the bridge so there were no pins at either end.  I took a single pin and experimented with bending (bend a little, check fit, bend some more, check again, etc.) until I found the correct bend.  Once I had this I bent 5 more pins to match and inserted them in the straight piece on the bridge - this kept all of the bent pins in a single piece of track - obviously I had to adjust the tie spacing on the other two pieces of modern track but I didn't have to do anything with their pins.
