Lionel 6-18086 TMCC NYC Pacific loco

Try removing the shell and see if you can communicate with it. The shock may have caused one or more of the handrail stanchions to short to the shell.

Pics of what you got going on  be helpful as well as what Pete mentioned,...I’m totally lost by :

i will post pics Monday.. thanks for suggestions.   before i took board off to take the engine off to look at the pinion gear, it would mot engage with drive wheels.  engine just ran not contacting drive wheels

Wow, ...that sounds like it took a pretty hard hit then,.....sounds like What Pete suggested, and maybe worse, ....a dead short can kill boards in short order,.....we’ll wait for pics and hopefully we can make some suggestions for diagnostics,....in the meanwhile, did you get the motor to engage the worm gears again?...if so, how did you make that repair?....I ask cause that may lead to other clues,...
