Re: Lionel 97C controller

Hi all,

Does anyone happen to know which back plate would be correct for the 97c controller. I have seen some that say "RCS controller for use with RCS & 1019..." and ones that say "97c controller for use with 97 Automatic hopper..."

I have the earlier brown case 97c with the RCS writing on the back but have seen the others with a black case with the 97c writing on the back.

Does anyone know is mine is correct from the factory or do you think the backplate was changed prior.

Also, Is there and way to tell the difference between a postwar and prewar 97. And possibly which years the brown colored controller came with???
